When should you change a mattress on a TV Bed? - TV Beds Northwest

When should you change a mattress on a TV Bed?

Did you know that you spend approximately one-third of your life sleeping? If the average adult sleeps for eight hours a night, that's a third of the day. So it's important to make sure that you have a good quality mattress on your bed and, if you are going to watch films and TV in your TV bed it will need to do some more heavy lifting!

TV Beds Northwest recommends changing your mattress every 7 years - the same amount of time as any other kind of bed. This is because over time mattresses can lose their support, leading to discomfort and an increased risk of back pain.

Did you know that March is national sleep month? So it's the perfect time to invest in a new mattress and get rid of the old one! With the days getting longer and brighter, it's a great opportunity to freshen up your bedroom with a new mattress and start sleeping better.

Do you need a new mattress? Here are some signs to look out for:

Wear and Tear:

Mattresses are usually quite resilient and constructed with a sturdy, tightly woven wool material. Unless the coils wear down, it is unlikely that you will experience any damage to your mattress as part of your sleeping setup. Nonetheless, if this does occur and you're looking for an excuse to upgrade anyways, then now might be the perfect time to search around for a new mattress.

How are you actually sleeping?

Poor sleep can leave you feeling exhausted and unmotivated, so if your nightly rest isn't up to par it's important to inspect the condition of your mattress. A high-quality mattress is an investment in quality shuteye, however, bear in mind that other elements such as diet, mood and nighttime routine all contribute to how well we fall asleep. Investing a little time into these areas could make all the difference.

How do you feel when you wake up?

Are you feeling soreness in your back and shoulders when you wake up, even though it wasn't there before? This could be a sign that your mattress is no longer providing the support it used to. It's possible this pain may have been caused by an injury, but if it keeps happening for weeks or more then chances are high that replacing your mattress with something cosier might help alleviate those aches and pains.

At TV Beds Northwest, we're proud to stock a huge range of mattresses which are perfect for TV Beds or indeed any bed! So if you think it's time to upgrade, why not check out our selection today?
